Golden Snow Day
Contrary to the title of this post, I will not be talking about peeing in the snow.
We are having a good storm here today. upwards of 40 cms predicted over the next 24 hours. Add to that the winds up to 100 km/hr and its one of those days you don't want to go outside. Heres a picture from my apartment door.
Its pretty much a white-out out there. On to the golden part of the post. Yesterday The Gushue Rink from St. John's, Newfoundland won the Olympic Gold Medal in Men's Curling. Made up of four young guys from all over NL and Russ Howard who I believe is from New Brunswick, They beat Finland 10-3 in yesterdays game. It was great to watch, even for someone like me who doesn't follow curling. Everyone here on the rock is super proud of the boys for what they have acheived. They are great ambassadors for us all.
The whole province came to a standstill yesterday afternoon. Schools were shut down at lunch, and alot of businesses were either closed or had TVs in the office to watch e game. We spent the afternoon in the boardroom watching the game over a few beers. Yay for the Olympics ! :)
Congrats to Brad, Russ, Jamie, Mark and Adam, you've done us all proud!
